Since my husband was unexpectedly sick when we arrived, we spent a lot more time relaxing at the resort than we had originally planned. But we both agreed it was a memorable weekend and will definitely go back. Beer in mini fridge was old/outdated. Room and Dinner were both very pricy but also very high quality. The out door rock hot tub was right ouside our room and was a real treat to sit in and watch the stars. The help was wonderful. We noticed an over charge on our reciept after we got home of course and called them up and they took care of it right away with a credit to my card. We originally booked a "garden view" room but when we got to the room we found the description was not accurate. The room overlooked Hwy 55 and there was no "garden" in sight. We changed to a lake view room that was lovely but very expensive. The room was not made up on our second day there which was quite surprising. My kids loved the pool, hot tub, game room and the big trampoline out on the lake. Our rooms were beautiful and suited us perfectly. We had two connecting rooms, which if you can afford it, works wonderfully! One detraction from the lodge is the service, which was quite slow and sometimes non existant, i.e. we had to carry our own bags to our room and when I asked for a life jacket for my daughter, I was told by one of the staff that he would get me one, and then he never brought one. We had planned to explore McCall more never ended up leaving the Club and were not able to do everything! Also, the staff didn't seem to be to informed about different events and activities during Winter Carnival time. There are lots of amenities and the restaurant is good, but could be great. The waitresses, although courteous and friendly, could use some more training in waiting in an establishment that costs as much as this does. The Whitetail is charging prices that are consistent with an "upper class establishment". The accomodations probably come close to meeting that expectation but we (my wife and I) found the food in the restrauntant to be subpar for the price charged (not that it was bad) and the service in the Bar area was horrific. We sat in the bar for over 30 minutes and no waiter service approached us (they were not busy). Finally I went out to the main desk and asked the desk clerk how to get someone to wait on us. She did appologize and called a waitress in the restaurant to come to the bar and serve us: she came once. We found the service in the bar unacceptable. When you add up not the subpar service end of our stay: we don't think the Whitetail has adequate value for what they charge.   Good Value Met Expectations Do Again out of three out of three out of three View William's review of InIdaho.com's service
